Our firm represents and defends hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, physicians, nurses, therapists and other healthcare providers of varying specialties, including acute, long-term and/or mental health care, against claims and disputes arising in the provision of such health care and treatment. We handle medical malpractice cases from the panel stage through completion of litigation, often involving interpretation of issues related to Louisiana's Medical Malpractice Act. We also prepare and review professional healthcare service contracts.

Our firm has extensive experience in toxic tort litigation, having represented industry in a number of mass toxic tort and environmental lawsuits. We are particularly well-versed with the legal and procedural issues as well as the scientific and medical issues which arise in such cases. We work closely with toxicologists, pulmonologists, process engineers, environmental engineers, air modelers, chemists and other experts who typically are involved in such cases. These cases often involve multiple plaintiffs and voluminous documents. Our legal team is well-equipped and well-trained to deal with the complexities of such cases.

We represent employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including employment discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, breach of contract and/or non-competition agreements and other employment related claims. We are also available to review personnel policies and manuals, assist in the implementation and review of existing policies, advise in the handling of personnel matters and analyze potential employee relations problems before they become lawsuits.

Our firm represents and defends insurers along with their insureds against both first party and third party claims and has extensive experience in defending bad faith claims. We also represent insurers involved in coverage disputes with their insureds. The firm has handled litigation involving all types of insurance, such as that related to damages under automobile liability policies; comprehensive general liability policies, including construction, premises and/or products liability; and homeowner's policies. We provide advice and coverage opinions, and litigate coverage issues in both state and federal courts and, where appropriate, in arbitration.
