Jeff Goldman became associated with Curry and Friend in July 2016 in the firm's New Orleans office. He represents oil and gas companies and chemical manufacturers in their environmental and toxic tort defense.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeff represented the American Association for Professional Landmen, manufacturers of oil field, equipment, pipeline companies and oilfield service and supply companies in a wide variety of litigation and other matters including right-of-way expropriation, personal injury (NORM) and environmental liability in real property transactions. He has extensive experience in all aspects of oil field "legacy lawsuits" from exception and answer, motion practice, and discovery, through trial as well as negotiating and drafting settlements compliant with Act 312. He brings to the firm extensive experience in handling expert witness issues and he has developed a particular focus on deconstructing and refuting opposition expert reports and opinions. Jeff is also experineced in prosecuting and defending indemnity and contribution claims, he has negotiated settlements and other disputes with both opponents and co-defendents, and drafted and filed briefs to both Louisiana appellate courts and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Jeff is a cum laude graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law where in addition to earning his Juris Doctor, he received a certificate in Common Law and a Certificate in International Law. While at Loyola he was a member of the Loyola Law Review as well as a research assistant to Professor David W. Grunning. He received several awards including the Law Review Award and the Law Excellence Award for top marks in his class.
In addition to his professional work, Jeff enjoys hunting, board games, and playing with his three small children. He is an enthusiastic reader of Rudyard Kipling, history, poetry, and science fiction.
